Morning Star Cabin

Excellent host and gorgeous retreat to stay. Too bad we only had a quick sleepover and gone next day.
Maria was very attentive, responsive and also was able to accommodate our late checkout at 1pm. As we had long travels day before. Beautiful space inside and out!

A beautiful little cabin with a lovely front porch and everything you need to cook, relax and enjoy - 5 mins drive from all that Nelson has to offer! And Maria is a fantastic host. Above and beyond.

This cute little space was quaint and perfect for us and our pups! We enjoyed the porches overlooking the river and the nights looking at the stars:) We will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Morningstar cabin. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed and the views were amazing! It is a beautiful countryside setting and yet within minutes of Nelson - a perfect fit for our four days in the Nelson area!

We loved staying here! The cabin is so cute and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was incredibly peaceful while still being close enough to town to easily explore the area. Maria was an incredibly friendly, helpful host. I just wish we could have stayed longer!

Maria is an excellent host! We had a couple issues but she addressed the one immediately (unfunctioning lock) and I'm sure she'll fix the other pronto too- the listing implies more beds than exist. There's one in the bedroom, one in the loft and a foldout futon. All are comfortable. The space is very clean. The views are very nice. The cabin is very nicely outfitted with appropriate but unique furniture. The kitchen is well outfitted too. The space was very private and the deck a nice place to gather. Highly recommend both the host and any of her properties!

Beautiful, cozy, and comfortable with a lovely little town just a short drive away, this cabin has the best of both worlds. Maria was also a wonderful host. Incredibly proactive and helpful!

Our stay at Maria's place was incredible! Throughout the place there were thoughtful touches like her dog bag and well appointed kitchen. The spot was very private while being extremely close to all the best trails and downtown. We'd certainly stay again if she's have us!

Very responsive, accommodating host. Super friendly, made us feel very welcome. She maintains the place very well- very clean, modern amenities while giving the magical “ off grid” feeling in close proximity to Nelson. Will be back for sure! Perfect stay for a long weekend in Nelson! Maria is lovely and helpful. We enjoyed the distance from town - not walkable but a quick drive with a nice view of the city from the porch. Would definitely book again.

Nice cabin located outside of Nelson for some peace and quiet. Super quaint place and close enough to everything you need.

We enjoyed our brief stay. Would have liked to stay longer to enjoy beautiful sunrises and coffee on the front porch. Will come again if we can.

Un petit coin de paradis dans le lodge de Maria, au milieu des bois, proche de la belle city de Nelson.. j'ai adoré passer la nuit dans la cabane, joliment décorée avec beaucoup de goût, tout y est , même les pantoufles de laine tricoté..super, je recommande..?‍♂️

Sehr schöne heimelige Blockhütte mit schöner Terrasse.
Habe es mir jedoch ein bisschen abgelegener vorgestellt ohne Nachbarn. Diese haben jedoch nicht gestört & es war sehr ruhig & privat.

Absolutely loved my stay there! Maria was so kind and friendly and very helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. The cabin was in a great location and very peaceful. Everything was clean and in great working condition. It was a perfect process from start to finish. I will definitely book again if in the area. Highly recommend staying there.

Loved staying at this place and Maria made our trip with her recommendations of activities, hikes and restaurants! We wouldn’t have gotten to see the salmon spawning if not for her recommendation too. Would definitely stay again.

My family and I stayed at the Morning Star cabin while exploring the Nelson area. Maria was very welcoming and helped with some suggestions for things to do. The cabin was clean and comfortable with a porch looking over Nelson and the lake. Great stay!

We loved this place. Just 5 minutes from Nelson with fantastic views looking out over Nelson itself and the lake. We went swimming every day at nearby Taghum beach. The cabin itself is perfectly equipped. We BBQ every night and enjoyed sitting outside on the lawn or the deck. We especially enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquility. We even had regular visits from a deer.

Maria was very friendly and helpful. The cabin is cozy, very clean, and very well equipped. There is a very nice view looking over Kootenay Lake and the city of Nelson.

Myself and my 2 kids really enjoyed our stay at the Morning Star Cabin.

We had previously stayed (and had a fantastic experience) at Mistiso's Place in downtown Nelson, and this time, we're looking for a cabin experience. We were certainly not disappointed!

The cabin is so cute, clean, and well organized. My kids LOVED the loft bedroom! Everything we needed was there to prepare meals and be comfortable. The cabin has a lovely view of the lake and has a feel of being truly secluded. Location-wise, it is just a short drive into downtown Nelson where you can shop and eat out to your heart's content! Overall I would certainly recommend Maria's cabin, she is a wonderful host, who checks in, but also gives you privacy. Thanks again, Maria!
